Bright Avaari

I am so glad that I am able to add both of my layout to the WHITE with a Twist Challenge from Scrapping Outback!!
Thank you once again!!

Bright Beauties Avaari & Ziah

Well when I saw Scrapbooking Outback's,  White with a Twists Challenge for July,
I was over the moon!  Those colours are magical!!

So I began with a very cute photo of my granddaughter sucking her toe while sitting in her highchair!!!   The bright colours lent itself to her brightness of being able to get that foot up and toe into her mouth!!!

I was having so much fun with the Ranger  Dylusions ink sprays!!! calypso teal & fresh lime in particular!!!

So today I had a visit from my niece Cassie, who was wanting to practice her face painting skills for an upcoming fair she is going to be painting at!   Ziah was first up and he picked the Ninja Turtle face painting!!
Well oh my goodness me! when I saw the finished product I could not resist doing another layout in these beautiful colours!!!
So I am not sure which one I prefer so I am hoping to add both of them to this months Challenge!

Hoping you like them, as much as I had fun creating them today!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE CHALLENGE

So Happy ALL THE TIME

Kaisercraft July Blog Challenge!!    This lovely layout by Sonia is the inspiration for this challenge!
The challenge is to recreate using this layout and using any Kaisercraft collection we like!!
https://www.kaisercraft.com.au/blog/july-blog-challenge/

Well this is a funny story!     I had this challenge in mind at a recent craft day where one of the pop up stalls had some Kaiser packs for sale!  I thought I'd buy one to use as I didn't really want to search all through my stash at home for a collection!!

When I got home and pulled out my purchase and checked out the layout! GUESS WHAT I had bought the Lilac Whispers collection!!   So I hope you like what I have done using the same papers!!! eecccckkkkkkk!!!  Tried to do something a little different!

I love these photos for this layout!  My granddaughter Avaari, is the smiliest child I have ever met. Everyone who meets her comments on her happy nature and smiley face ALL THE TIME!!

Thanks Sonia Thomason for creating this wonderful collection! & thanks to Kaiser for a great Challenge !!!!

Our travel Buddies!

Well Kelly-ann Oosterbeek mentioned at a recent workshop that she has several Challenges each month so I had to have a little look at what I might be able to do!

So the  Sketch #1 by Kym Cowan was a lovely sketch and my layout becomes my  Page No. 12 for my new USA Holiday Album!!

I have loved working with

RED  WHITE   & BLUE  papers this month & thanks Kelly-ann for the Challenge!!!

Disneyland 2000

Dusty Attic's July Challenge was a real CHALLENGE for me today!

Here is the lovely mood board and sketch!!
I love the colours!!! They look really wonderful together!!

So I decided I might do something I have never done before and make a background on white card!!!
I had seen the new Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Oxide inks and loved the colours. Especially

- broken china -
&
- spiced marmalade -

Well I dabbled a bit and have to say Tim would be very disappointed with the outcome!! BUT it is my first play so I am HAPPY  :)

In hindsight I think I should have used the Distress Inks to get the more vivid colours in this mood board!!  But never mind I am not going to start again!!

Hopefully you will like it!

Our Grandson Ziah

This gorgeous boy, our grandson Ziah, has such an imagination!  He is always playing make believe and roping his parents and grandparents into role play with him too!  Read all about this little man on the layout below!

So this months Scrap the Boys Challenge sketch by Laura Whitaker   www.scrappinaround theclock.blogspot.com was perfect for this little story!!
Thanks for the Challenge http://scraptheboys.blogspot.com.au/

I have been using a lot of red white and blue American pages for this months Challenges I have participated in and I liked them for these photos too!

Our Visit To Alcatraz

Stuck Sketches this month Challenge for July was a sketch created by Laura Whitaker   www.scrappinaroundtheclock.blogspot.com

So this is Pages 5 & 6 for my new USA holiday Album, using photos from our 2000 visit to San Francisco's Alcatras!  My daughter, Ruth, loved the self guided audio tour and Kerry my husband, was intrigued by the  story of Al Capone's incarceration at the gaol back in the 1930s. He spent 8 years behind bars and you can see a pic of his cell in the layout below, tucked in under the main photos!

Thank you Stuck Sketches for the Challenge again this month!

Let It Snow for Kerry & Ruth!

Anna's Craft Cupboard through out a lovely warming wintery Challenge this July!!!
I just love the colours on this mood board!!   Blue and Brown just look divine together I think!

I was surprised when going through my stash looking for pieces that might fit with this layout!!   I was happy that I could gather together these elements to make this cute layout of my husband and daughters' first experience of SNOW!

White inks, muslin, feathery ribbons, silver sequins, silvery snowflakes, a beautiful big old Sizzix snowflake dye, metal snowflakes and round bobbly & holey laces do the best job to set the wintery scene don't you think?!

When travelling in the US of A back in 2000 our dear friends were so excited when they heard that it was snowing up at Park City!  So they bundled us in the car with borrowed jackets and we stayed up there for a night! For people who don't have much cold weather here in Queensland, it was a wonderful experience! Thanks Johnsons!! xx

Thanks for a wonderfully wintery warming layout challenge

Beautiful Life

How lucky were Lola Wagner Anna Battle Gillian Moorton and I last week!!!  This lovely talented lady was kind enough to share her wonderful talent with us and helped us create this wonderful double layout!

Tracey showed us how to use watercolour pens with gelati crayons, watercolour crayons & stamping & stencilling!   So many lovely elements to the layouts!

I was always interested in learning more about this after a little dabble last year at one of the Workshop Wonder days with Alison!  So it was nice to give it another go!

Lots of lovely fussy cutting and so many little extra touches, that just make the layout perfect for my daughters wedding photos!   Little material covered button, some wood chip butterflies and Anna's lovely crocheted flowers, tiny heart buttons and pretty micro beads for the flowers centres.

Simple but devine elements like sequins and cotton just finished off the pages beautifully!

Once again many thanks Tracey dear creative friend!

Love This

I am a member of this wonderful site on Facebook called Maremi's Creative Café!  Generally I just enjoy seeing other peoples creations and join in the convo regarding this or that every now and again !! BUT this week I decided to enter into #Maremi'sWhispersBoard & #52CafeCards

I decided to stick to the original idea of using a playing card size piece of card, to create a mini piece of art!!  Marta gave this lovely little board for inspiration!   I had so much fun going through my copious amounts of stash to find some elements that I could use for this Challenge!  It is exciting using such a tiny piece of card to put your creations onto!

You might like to join the group and check out what I find to be a wonderful forum for crafty, creative artistic people!!  I can not believe that such a big group (14,452 members) can be so like minded and uplifting and helpful to each other! Thank you Marta Lapkowska for the group you began!

USA holidays

Well here is another page for my USA holiday album !! Number 4!!  I am truly on a roll this month thanks to these wonderful Challenges!!! Unfortunately you can't really see all the blingy glitter on the fireworks!!

I love this one from Lets Get Sketchy because not only was the mood board fantastic we were blessed with a fantastic sketch too!! by Brenshevia at letsgetsketchyblogspot.com

Thanks for letting me play along again http://letsgetsketchy.blogspot.com.au/

I want to share with you something that was a bit of a spooky moment!  On the night that I finished this layout; which I added Statue of Liberty pic as the mood board suggested; my grandson was sitting at the dinner table playing with a basket of antiquey things that sit on the floor in the corner of my dining room as decoration!   Well what a surprise I got when I looked over at him!!! I promise NO PROMPTING from me whatsoever!  Our very own little Statue of Liberty right there at the table!!  SPOOKY!

USA All the Way

This is Page 3 for my USA holidays album I have started creating this month!

This is a throw back to our 2000 holiday in the States and I loved the sketch for the Get Crafty July Challenge!  Thanks again for the inspiration! I hope you agree I have met the challenge of paint, ink, mixed media and lots of layers!!!

I love these papers that I bought in the US way back when I started scrapping..... I think it was 1997!!!!!    I made use of my stencils, products; KaiserCraft Shiraz Mist, Steel coloured Ferro  and splat stamp, along with my star dyes!  I made up some black acrylic paint and water in a spray bottle for the flicking spots too!

Head on over to Facebook's Get Crafty Page, to join in on all the fun with these challenges!   https://www.facebook.com/groups/102086720261972/
Here is the sketch from this month!

Love this SASSY MISSY

This SASSY MISSY is my Granddaughter #1! 16 going on 26!
I love denim and you will rarely see me wearing anything but denim! So scrapping with it is so much fun for me too!
Scrapbooking Top 50 put out the Challenge this month with this amazing mood board!!
I hope you agree with me that I nailed it!!!
I love the little denim pocket which has a second photo in it which is the main reason for the title SASSY MISSY.  Don't you just love a teenagers selfie!!  (opps not sure how to turn this photo around! - another thing to ask my daughter about!!!)

Thanks for the smashing Challenge  roll on August!!

4th July for You & I

Creative Embellishments Mood Board for the July Challenge was all the inspiration I needed to get out some of my holiday photos and start the Album I had been planning for so long!

So thanks https://creativeembellishments.com/blog/ for the nudge!  As you will see by other layouts for this month this was the first of MANY red white & blue USA themed layouts for me!!

So many photos!  So many ideas!  So much paper all the way from the US of A!

The twist with this Challenge was to incorporate stars and strips and I think I have managed to do this adequately!!

Hint to self! STOP & smell the roses!!

My Mantra this month - STOP and smell the roses!

This months Kraft Plus Challenge is amazing!

Everything is coming up ROSES was the
the July Challenge with ROSES 3 WAYS

Ideas were mulling around and around in my head for a few days!!  Then I got to work!  Actually coming up with  5  ways with roses!
Rose 1  I borrowed a rose stencil from my dear friend Lola, and stencilled the pale green paper with Turquoise Ferro!  I just love the texture of Ferro!
Rose 2 Next step some pretty rose Home Sweet Home napkins to transfer onto the Kraft!  love this technique, it adds a lovely element to any page!
Rose 3   Rosie's Studio Diecut Shapes - Flourish pack,  to the rescue!     I loved the roses with the gold trim just to add another dimension to the page!
Rose 4 Paper Roses in pale turquoise and pale pink. Tiny roses in the same colours and one little mini embroidered rose too!
Rose 5  I framed the whole page in Kaiser Kraft Sage & Grace Collection,  Mint !!

The photos I originally chose for the layout, where some gardens and roses at the Chelsea Flower Show from our 2011 London visit, BUT every time I walked past the finished layout, there was just something NOT right!

Eventually decided that the ones I used complimented the page much nicer!
Thanks again Kraft Plus for a great Challenge again this month!

Little boxes!

I was gifted with a gorgeous little box like these and when I had a few birthdays coming up I decided to give it a go!  WOW a...
