Eleven going on 21!

At Jayde's Auntie and Uncle's Wedding she fell in love with the Photo Booth!  This is just THREE of an amazing amount of poses, the dear little 11 year old got up to!  Oh Boy are we in for a ride of our life with this little granddaughter of ours!!

Loved using the BLING Colour Blast Colour Paste with this favourite Damask stencil of mine - works well with the curtain backdrop in the photos don't you think!  The Colour Paste is very easy to use and love the shininess of it!

Thanks for the challenge CB

A Beautiful Moment

This was a great challenge for me! I was thinking at first "I can't do this one!"  I love the concept, but thought I would have nothing to contribute!    I kept the mood board close by and kept looking at it, every once in a while!

Flicking through a bunch of photos I found this one of Granddaughter #2 (grandbaby # 7) and decided to give it a go! Rummaging around in my extensive stash, I was staggered at how much I had to add to the layout!  As often does the photo does not really show up every detail BUT believe me there is heaps of "metal" on board!

Gold and bronze and metallic buttons galore; embroidered gold flowers scattered around; stems of gold beads; the daisy in the back of the floral clusters have been painted with tarnished brass Distress Stain;  Sequins painted with silver Pigment Izink; Silver and White silver glittered, embossed stencilled hearts; silver tape; and splashers of Distress Mica Sprays brass, bronze and pewter, along with Bo Bunny Bronze glimmer Spray & a little bronze metal dragonfly and mini crown to top it off!

My home made item is the 2 floral clusters, which I loved putting together - flowers, ferns, leaves, bead stems, mini doilies tipped with Pigment Izink Ambre, kraft card, soft tuelle, metallic buttons, & white silver embossed hearts, gold embroidered flowers!!

So much precious metal; gold, silver, bronze, brass, pewter WOW! -  I have surprised myself!  Thanks for the challenging challenge, can't wait to see what they give us next time.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE SHOES!

The minute I read the Scrap the Girls November Challenge and
checked out the Mood Board I knew exactly what photos I was going to use!

My daughter, Sarah, was married back in 2012, and her favourite colour is orange! So her wedding was styled in shades of rusty orange through to bright orange! The day we when into the city to try on wedding dresses, Sarah saw these gorgeous shoes in a shop window! Of course, she HAD to have them and at the time the trend was to wear your favourite colour shoes under your dress!  As you can see it looked wonderful with matching bouquet and shoes!

I completed an album for Sarah last year, but am only slowly getting to do one for myself!
So this is another layout to add to the album!  7 down and 400 to go  lol

Thanks Scrap for the Girls

Centre of Attention

Really love this sketch for the Stuck Sketches November Challenge!
I love getting a kick start with a sketch! It really helps to get your creative juices flowing!!!

Like the previous post I put up for another challenge, I have to let you in on a secret!
I had some beautiful pages that I did in a workshop with Kelly Ann Oosterbeek a few months back and the back side of the layouts were too nice to not use!!  So I added a few more pieces of paper and voila!

Loved using three little original photos from my family snaps way back when! The photos are still in such great condition, which I cannot say for the early photos of my own family back in the early 80's !

Thanks again Stuck Sketches      http://stucksketches.blogspot.com.au/

Karen tells her young self!

Can I tell you a secret!?   I had some beautiful pages that I did in a workshop with Kelly Ann Oosterbeek a few months back and the back side of the layouts were too nice to not use!!  So here is one of them!
All the layouts are for my Childhood Album so they will fit well in the album! Save paper! and have fun trying to work around what I started with!!  Such a challenge and kept me busy for some time!!!

Thanks for the challenge ST50OZ

Thanks Kelly Ann for some great back of layout pages !!

Hello Sugar

D-lish certainly gave us some really delicious colours on the mood board for November,
along with a really cute sketch to work with!

I found the perfect pic for this layout!  A cute moment captured between my grandson Ziah and his little friend Mila!  They are such good friends and this says it all I think!

I was lucky enough to win the Random Draw for the October Challenge and my prize was a gorgeous package from D-lish Scraps!  I just had to use the pretty pieces in this months challenge!

Thanks for the prize D-lish and thanks also for the challenge this month

King KOALA not KING KONG

Kraft + November Challenge is really BIG

I had the perfect photo to use! My Hubby and Granddaughter were eager to try Sydney's ULTIMATE experience, when we were visiting in January this year!  SYDNEY TOWER!

I chickened out because heights and I don't get along!  They checked out the truly beautiful views of Sydney from the indoor Observation Deck and while up there had their picture taken!  This was photo shopped onto a BIG  Koala climbing the Tower!!!

Never thought I would be able to use this photo in a challenge BUT this one fits perfectly!

I love the BIG title I have used too! The old Basic Grey Monograms were perfect for the job! A little Inka Gold Aquamarine & some Colour Blast embossing powder, to cover the not so great pattern and they were ready to go!

Thanks again for the BIG fun challenge

Bathing Beauty

Let's Get Sketchy Challenge this month was cool with a
L  O  N  G    T  I  T  L  E!

My daughter sent me this gorgeous pic of my Grandbaby #9!
Dyllan is a serious little cutie pie and you have to work hard for a smile!!
This was her first swimming experience so we will excuse her this time!!  lol

These are really old papers that I have had in my stash, BUT I thought they were perfect for this photo!
I had fun using...
Some Just Blue  Colour Blast embossing powder &
some Just Blue Colour Shimmer Cube Watercolour!!  to compliment the blue in Dyllan's swimsuit!
Some Inka Gold,  Magenta to cover some old letters &
then some cool white sparkly embossing powder!
The glittery finish unfortunately does not show up too well!  But looks gorgeous in the flesh!!

Magic Love

I love watercolour although I am not too good with it!!
It was a lovely challenge to dabble a bit more and I have used some wonderful products I have and hoping that you think it is affective!

I wish I had  taken a photo of the first layout I did!?!?!  UUUGGGLLLLYYYY
So I decided to cut it all up and used those elements on a second layout and Voila!!  Ta-da!! I think it hits the brief well!
